FETF 2026: Moore Unidrill Direct Drills Eligible Under FETF44

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF 2026) opens for applications on 17 March 2026 and supports farmers and contractors in England who want to invest in equipment that improves farm productivity.

For the 2026 scheme, the FETF44 Direct Drill productivity item offers one of the most valuable grant opportunities, and our direct drills fully meet the criteria.

Farmers can apply for grant support between £1,000 and £25,000 within the Productivity items category.

Why the Moore Unidrill Qualifies for FETF44

DEFRA’s 2026 specification for the FETF44 Direct Drill includes:

  • Minimum 2.9m drilling width
  • Disc or tine coulters permitted
  • Must drill into established cover crops up to 15cm
  • Minimum 1,000L seed hopper
  • Precision metering with a wide rate range
  • Ability to drill cereals, pulses, oilseeds, grass and cover crops

Moore Unidrill models satisfy these requirements through:

  • The proven Moore coulter system designed for low‑disturbance direct drilling
  • Narrow row spacing that improves crop competitiveness and reduces erosion
  • Engineering-led design with adjustable disc depth and coulter pressure for consistent placement
  • Strong performance across arable, grassland, cover crop and stewardship drilling

The Moore Unidrill range has been refined for more than 50 years, establishing the brand as a leading direct drill manufacturer across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Eligible Moore Unidrill Models for FETF44

All 3.0m, 3.5m and 4.0m Moore Unidrill direct drills meet the core requirements of the FETF44 productivity item, based on both historical programme eligibility and the 2026 specification.

Eligible models include:

These machines support:

  • Direct drilling into stubble
  • Re-establishing leys and grassland
  • Drilling into sprayed-off existing swards
  • Cover crop establishment and regenerative agriculture systems

Why Choose a Moore Unidrill for FETF 2026?

✔ Low-disturbance direct drilling

The disc + coulter placement system protects soil structure, maintains moisture, and supports sustainable regenerative farming.

✔ Narrow row spacing

Narrow rows lead to rapid canopy closure, improved weed suppression and better moisture conservation.

✔ High residual value

Moore Unidrill machines retain excellent resale value and remain in demand internationally.

✔ Suitable for both arable and grassland systems

The Unidrill is uniquely effective across a wide range of applications without compromise.

FETF 2026 Application Window

  • Opens: 17 March 2026
  • Closes: Midday, 28 April 2026
  • You may submit one application per theme (Productivity, Slurry, Animal Health & Welfare)
  • The scheme is competitive – funding is not guaranteed.

How Much Funding Is Available?

FETF provides a fixed grant value per eligible item. Applications must fall between £1,000-£25,000 per theme.

DEFRA states it:

“will pay a percentage of the cost of each item…the exact grant amount depends on the item you choose.”

This means the grant amount is not tied to:

  • The Moore Unidrill model chosen
  • Whether optional upgrades are specified
